Omega NC800 HDS Juicer Review

The Omega NC800 HDS juicer is an entry to mid-level appliance. It’s considered to be in line with the best juicers on the market in its price range. Its ease of use is a fantastic benefit especially for beginner juicers or those who prefer fuss free juicing.

One can’t go past its aesthetically pleasing looks, consequently making it a conversation starter on any kitchen bench top. It will no doubt blend with most kitchen decors.

The Omega NC800 HDS is a high powered and versatile juicer that simply cannot be overlooked in your search for an adequate juicer for all your juicing needs. It’s highly rated and popular with many features and benefits I will discuss below.

It is important to note that the Omega NC800 HDS is a horizontal juicer. This means that is it longer and wider than it is tall, taking up more bench space than a vertical juicer such as the Omega VRT350X Vertical Masticating Juicer.

However, there is a plus to having a horizontal juicer, if choosing to store it in a kitchen cabinet, it will usually fit with ease due to it not being as tall as it’s vertical counterpart.

The Omega NC800 is also great for juicing Wheatgrass too.

Masticating Juicer:

The Omega NC800 HDS is a masticating juicer. In short, this means that the machine squeezes as much liquid as possible from your produce.

It has been my experience that masticating juicers produce far tastier juices and are generally less noisy than their centrifugal counterparts.

The juice from a masticating juicer is less likely to be ‘foamy’ and won’t separate, no matter how many different types of produce you place into your juicer to make the one juice.

Let us now take a look at the product specifications and features in this Omega NC800 juicer review.

Dry Pulp – You will get every last drop of juice from your produce, as a result, the pulp will be very dry. Dry pulp is an indication of a very good juicer that extracts all that it is able to.

Bigger screen – Because of the bigger juicing screen with the NC800, this results in a more yield due to an efficient extraction process.

Soft fruits can back up – Softer fruits turn mushy at times in the juicing process. This can be eliminated by simply adding a drier piece of produce directly after, such as a carrot.

Extra Pulp – While not a major issue, the juice seems like it’s not entirely pulp free. Straining through a nut milk bag such as this one can resolve this.

Works best with:

The Omega NC800 works best with leafy green vegetables. With the added benefit of an adjustable end cap, this enables you to squeeze the maximum juice from your greens. Having said that, it works effectively with juicing other fruits and vegetables too.

Storing juice:

Juice is always best to be consumed as soon as possible. But with the fast paced lives we live this is not always possible. Juice made with the Omega NC800 can be stored in a glass bottle such as this one and placed in the fridge for no more than 3 days.

Best suited for:

Beginner right through to intermediate juicers. Particularly those looking for a quality juicer that is multipurpose.

My rating:

I rate the Omega NC800 a 9/10.
